What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which acknowledges the connection between the body’s structure and function.

Despite the word ‘osteo’ meaning bones, osteopaths examine and treat the whole body! This includes muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, fascia, internal organs, nerves, and lymphatic system.

Osteopaths use a gentle hands-on approach to improve or prevent imbalance or dysfunction. Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as stretching, massage, traction and joint articulation.

Meet your Osteopath

Caitlin Kilpin graduated with a Master of Osteopathy from Unitec in 2017 and has been practicing in her hometown of Palmerston North for over half a decade.

She holds a current annual practicing certificate with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand and is also a registered ACC provider.

Her favourite part of being an osteopath is working collaboratively with patients and helping them achieve their goals.

As an avid dancer, she spends most of her spare time in a studio. If she’s not there, you can find her working on one of her many craft projects.
